Update

Sunday & Monday

Light snow began to fall around sunrise on Sunday morning. We should see some accumulating snow during Sunday morning, though a wind direction from the southwest isn’t great for snow at Steamboat.

From Sunday midday through Sunday midnight, the wind direction should be from the west, and this is a very good direction for snow at Steamboat. We should see 4-8+ inches from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening which means conditions will be soft for Sunday's last chair and there will be powder for Monday’s first chair.

Following a break in the snow from Sunday midnight through about Monday sunrise, another piece of energy will bring snow to northern Colorado and we’ll likely see at least 2-4 inches on Monday, so powder conditions should continue through the day, though due to stronger winds and slightly warming temperatures, the snow quality could become a bit thicker during the day.

Tuesday

The snow conditions on Tuesday morning should be soft with leftover powder thanks to the lingering snow from later Monday afternoon and Monday night. The weather on Tuesday will be dry and mostly sunny with highs in the 20s.

Next storm

We’ll likely see dry and at least partly sunny weather through the rest of the week and weekend with the next chance for snow around Monday or Tuesday, January 14-15.
