Steamboat Daily Snow

Update
Storm #1, Wednesday
Snow showers began late on Tuesday night and we saw about 1 inch on the summit snow stake cam and the official report from mid-mountain is 0 inches (there does look like a dusting of new snow). Expect snow to continue all day, and we’ll likely see the more intense snow midday, afternoon, and early evening as the wind direction switches from the southwest (not favorable) to the west (favorable). I still think 4-8 inches is a good estimate and we might go a bit higher due to the plentiful moisture in the air.
Storm #2, Thursday night to Friday night
Following dry weather on Thursday (maybe a few snow showers), we’ll see intense snow from late Thursday night through Friday afternoon. This storm should also bring 4-8+ inches of snow, and Friday will offer soft turns all day. I think that the most intense snow will end on Friday evening, so Saturday morning will likely be soft but a lot of the snow will likely be tracked from Friday.
The weekend and next storms
The weather will be dry on Saturday and Sunday, then the next storm should bring snow from later Monday through Tuesday with an early estimate for a few inches of accumulation. Another system could slide in later next week, and the northern mountains of Colorado will remain near the storm track for the rest of the month, so there should be more chances for snow coming up.
