Update

Snow Monday & Monday Night

Snow should begin on Monday late morning or midday and continue through late Monday night. All models show a storm total between 4-8 inches for Steamboat, with softer snow on Monday afternoon, and the best fluffy powder should be on Tuesday morning with cold temperatures in the single digits.

A Break

Expect dry weather on Tuesday and Tuesday night as we’ll be in between storms.

Snow Wednesday & Wednesday Night

The next storm will track over northern Colorado during the middle of the week. Expect snow to ramp up on Wednesday with possibly intense snow on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. I like the look of this storm – we’ll have adequate moisture, a temperature of 5-10F at the mountaintop, and a wind direction from the west and west-northwest. These are all the perfect ingredients for snow at Steamboat. Right now I’ll keep the forecast conservative at 4-8 inches, but the chance for 12+ inches is very real. Conditions will be soft on Wednesday afternoon and possibly deep on Thursday morning.

Through the end of January

Models continue to show that storms will clip northern Colorado with light snow at times through the weekend and into early next week. Expect at least light snow on Friday and Saturday, then we might see a break on Sunday into Monday with another system around Tuesday, January 29th.
