Update

Storm #1 on Sunday

Following dry weather on Saturday, the next storm will arrive around Sunday morning with snow possible through Sunday evening. Due to an unfavorable wind direction from the southwest, we’ll likely see just light snow with 1-4 inches of accumulation. There is a chance for a few narrow bands of intense snow to develop on Sunday thanks to the jet stream overhead and an unstable airmass, and perhaps we’ll get lucky with one of these bands tracking over Steamboat and delivering more snow than we expect.

Storm #2 during the middle of next week

On Monday and Tuesday, we’ll have a few snow showers now and again with minimal accumulation. Then the next storm should bring snow on Wednesday and Thursday, though the latest models are hinting that this storm could slow and/or split as it approaches Colorado. We’ll need to wait another few days before having higher confidence about snow amounts and the timing of this storm.
