Steamboat Daily Snow

Update
Storm #1 on Sunday
We should see periods of snow on Sunday, though due to an unfavorable wind direction from the southwest, we’ll likely see just light snow with 1-4 inches of accumulation. There is a chance for a few narrow bands of intense snow to develop on Sunday thanks to the jet stream overhead and an unstable airmass, and perhaps we’ll get lucky with one of these bands tracking over Steamboat and delivering more snow than we expect.
Storm #2 during the middle of next week
On Monday and Tuesday, we’ll have a few snow showers now and again with minimal accumulation. Then the next storm should bring snow on Wednesday and Thursday. The latest models continue to hint that this storm could slow and/or split as it approaches Colorado, which could lower snow totals. We’ll need to wait at least another day before having higher confidence about snow amounts and if Wednesday or Thursday could be a powder day.
Future Storms
Odds are pretty good that we’ll see snow return around Sunday, February 10th, and that an active pattern will continue through mid-February. There should be more powder days over the next two weeks!
