Update

Saturday Recap

A fun day! The front moved through early in the morning with intense snow through midday. While the official mid-mountain snow stake only reported 5 inches, the summit snow stake topped out at 13 inches of light, fluffy snow. I hope you enjoyed the powder!

Sunday Morning

It is a chilly start with temperatures in the single digits and light snow falling thanks to a weak wave of energy passing over northern Colorado. We’ll likely see some sunshine behind the light snow in the morning with a high temperature of 10-15F.

Snow Sunday through Wednesday

We will have chances for snow each day and night from Sunday through Wednesday morning, though snow amounts should be light because the main storm will track south of Colorado and the wind direction from the south and southeast is not favorable for intense snow. From Tuesday midday through Tuesday night, as the storm moves to the east, the wind direction could switch to blow from the west and northwest and this could improve our chances for snow. Keep your eye on later Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Next Storms

We should see another southern system around Friday, February 22, and then perhaps a more favorable northern storm sometime around February 25-27. I have low confidence in the details of both storms.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
