Update

Storm Wednesday & Thursday

Light snow and colder temperatures arrived on Wednesday morning.

We have just a dusting to an inch of snow as of Wednesday at 700am, but we’ll see more snow through Wednesday-day and Wednesday-evening as the storm strengthens and moves over Colorado.

A forecast of 4-8 inches on Wednesday with a few additional inches on Wednesday night still looks good. I remain concerned that a wind direction from the north on Wednesday night will limit overnight totals, and this is why I’m keeping the forecast for Wednesday night on the lower end.

The softest snow should be found on Wednesday afternoon, and if enough snow falls after lifts close on Wednesday, then Thursday morning will likely offer the softest and deepest turns. Also, as a northwest flow continues, a few inches of snow could fall on Thursday and Thursday night, keeping conditions soft through Friday morning.

Closing Weekend

I am still expecting a southern storm to move near Colorado on Saturday, and any snow in Steamboat will likely be light, with times of partly sunny weather as well. Temperatures should top out in the 30s for both Saturday and Sunday. Closing day is Sunday, April 14th.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
