Monday was a warm day with a high temperature in the 30s. High-elevation, thin clouds filtered the sunshine.

Tuesday will be another warm day with a high in the 30s. I had thought we would see a lot of sunshine, but a layer of lower clouds has moved in and I am not sure if these clouds will stick around or if they will dissipate by mid-morning or midday.

Wednesday is when the next storm will begin with snow showers and light accumulations throughout the day. Temperatures will be warm and the snow level may creep up just above the base area at times of lighter precipitation (there could be raindrops at the base).

Wednesday evening through Wednesday night is when we should see the most intense snow. Temperatures will cool and the snow should be much fluffier compared to the thicker snow that fell during the day on Wednesday.

Thursday morning should offer powder with 5-10 inches of new snow. Snow showers could stick around though I am not sure if we’ll see much more accumulation or just another inch or two.

From Thursday night through Saturday night, the snow will return. We could see times of intense snow, and thanks to cooler temperatures, the snow quality should be fluffy and fun. Multiple days of snow, like we’re going to see, is how we generate the best, deepest, and most fun conditions, and I expect 10-20+ inches of snow from Thursday night through Saturday night and conditions should be deeper and softer throughout this time with the best powder maybe on Saturday.

While snow could slow down on Sunday into Monday, there’s a chance that the snow will not stop as some models show just enough lingering moisture and energy to keep flakes in the air.

Then another stronger storm could move in around Tuesday, February 9th. And after that, most longer-range models show stormy weather sticker around the western US and the Rockies through at least mid-February, so hopefully, the snow will continue.
