Chances for light snow this week at Steamboat

Summary

Multiple storms will keep snow showers around this week with the best chance for more accumulations on Thursday into Friday.

Short Term Forecast

On Sunday morning, we enjoyed the 4 inches of snow that accumulated on Saturday night, and then an additional inch fell during the morning hours. After that, we saw breaks of sunshine and generally dry conditions for the rest of the day.

For Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, additional storms will track south of Colorado and this is usually not a favorable track for big snowfall. We could still see snow showers and light snow accumulations during these days, but we will only see significant snow if we get very, very lucky.

For Thursday and Friday, the final storm of the week will again take a more southerly track though there is a chance for at least a few inches of accumulation with the best chance for powder will likely be on Friday.

Extended Forecast

From Saturday midday through Monday, March 29, expect dry, sunny, and warm weather with typical springtime conditions of firm and crunchy snow in the morning and then softer and even slushy snow during the afternoon.

From Tuesday, March 30 through Wednesday, March 31, a storm will track to our north. This storm could keep all of its snow and cold air to our north, or some of the snow and cold air could drop south into Colorado. It is too soon to know what will happen, and I will keep you updated.
