Cool nights and looking forward to December

Summary

There is little to no snow in the forecast through the end of November, but the bright spots are nights that are cold enough for snowmaking and a potentially stormy start to December.

Update

Monday was a gorgeous day with sunny skies and temperatures rising into the 40s.

Nighttime temperatures have been cold enough for snowmaking, as we can see in this image from the base.

On Tuesday night and Wednesday, there is a low chance for light snow as a disjointed storm moves through Colorado. The upshot of this storm is that temperatures will be in the teens on Wednesday and Wednesday night which will allow for snowmaking for 24+ straight hours.

In terms of natural snow, we'll see none from Wednesday night through the end of November. But opening day will be on Saturday, November 27, so snow sliding will occur even without more natural snow.

Looking forward to December, all models continue to indicate that the weather pattern will become stormier across the western United States. That does not guarantee that we'll see a lot of snow, but the outlook is at least leaning in the right direction.
