Steamboat Daily Snow

Snow returns
Summary
Tuesday felt like spring, and now on Wednesday, snow is back in the forecast.
Update
Tuesday was a warm, spring day with sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 30s to upper 40s.
Now on Wednesday morning, the snow stake shows zero snow, but a few flakes are just beginning to fall as of 700 a.m.
During this storm, which will last from Wednesday morning to Thursday afternoon, our best chance for snow will be during the daylight hours on Wednesday. We could see anything between 2-8 inches, though I think 3-6 inches is a somewhat better estimate. If the snow showers develop as expected, we could see conditions become softer throughout the day on Wednesday, though on non-groomed slopes, the base could be crusty under this new snow.
Thursday will likely be a drier day, but we could still see a few snow showers with light accumulations. High temperatures should be in the 20s.
Friday and Saturday will be mostly dry with just an outside chance for a snow shower. High temperatures will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.
From Sunday through Tuesday, a strong storm will track just to the south of Colorado. While this is typically not an ideal storm track for big snow here at Steamboat, the storm could be strong enough so that some moisture and energy will make it around to northwestern Colorado and that might lead to at least some powder on Monday and/or Tuesday. Stay tuned...
