Tuesday storm update
Summary
Snow fell on Monday night and we'll see snow accumulate through Wednesday.
Update
Monday was dry, then on Monday night, snow fell with significant accumulations. The mid-mountain snow stake is showing 11 inches and the summit report is 15 inches.
The snow on Monday night was the first part of the storm.
From Tuesday morning through Wednesday evening, moisture wrapping around the storm and into the northern mountains of Colorado will keep the snow going and we should see at least 6-12 additional inches, and perhaps double that if all factors align perfectly (moisture, wind direction, storm energy).
On Thursday and Friday, clouds will hang around and there could be snowflakes in the air, though snow accumulations should be minimal. High temperatures will be chilly, in the single digits.
Looking farther ahead, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will be dry and somewhat warmer with high temperatures in the teens and 20s.
Then our next chance for a storm should be around the middle of next week, any time between Tuesday, December 20, and Thursday, December 22.
