Cold Thursday, warmer Friday and Saturday

Summary

We'll see three dry days, then the snow will return on Sunday and it might snow most days next week.

Update

Wednesday brought a gusty wind from the east. This is an unusual wind direction but it does happen when a strong storm tracks across southern Colorado. Usually, a wind from the east means no snow, and that's what happened on Wednesday. Then on Wednesday night, the wind direction slowly shifted back to blow from the west and we saw a few flakes.

From Thursday through Saturday, we will see dry weather and mostly sunny skies. The temperature on Thursday will be chilly with morning readings near or colder than zero and an afternoon high in the single digits. Then Friday and Saturday will be warmer with highs in the 20s.

Looking further ahead, the weather is going to turn stormy with multiple chances for snow as we close out the final 10 days of February.

On Sunday, February 19, the first wave of storm energy could deliver at least a few inches of snow.

From Monday, February 20 to Tuesday, February 21, storm energy may track directly over northern Colorado and this could bring double-digit snowfall and maybe a powder day on Tuesday.

From Wednesday, February 22 to Thursday, February 23, another storm could bring more snow and generate more mid-week powder later on Wednesday or early on Thursday.

Then we might head into a somewhat drier weather pattern for a few days, with another storm arriving around February 26-27.
