Snow forecast for the week

Summary

The first storm of the week will arrive today on Sunday and there will be multiple chances for flakes through Friday (and maybe beyond).

Update

Saturday was mostly sunny and dry, and Saturday night was also dry as the storm had not yet arrived.

Now on Sunday morning, snow started to fall right around sunrise, and we have about 1 inch of accumulation now as the lifts start to spin.

On Sunday, we should see another few inches of accumulation. Some forecasts show up to 3-7 inches, which is feasible, though this storm seems a little unfocused so my expectations are low.

On Sunday night, the weather should be dry as we will be in between storms.

Then from Monday afternoon through Tuesday midday, storm energy and moisture MIGHT combine to create significant snow, around 5-10 inches or more. That said, the wind direction during this time, from the west-southwest, is not favorable, so we'll have multiple factors that are against each other and this leads to uncertainty in the forecast.

From Tuesday night through Wednesday night, another piece of storm energy will bring more snow to Colorado. Once again, the wind direction during this time will not be favorable for snow, though the storm energy and moisture should be strong enough to generate another 4-8 inches of snow with possible powder on Wednesday.

Then from Thursday through Saturday, additional snow showers will stream into Colorado from the southwest. Yet again, the wind direction will not be favorable for big accumulations, but we might see more accumulating snow during this time.

Looking further into the future, there should be another chance for snow around February 26-27, and then again around March 3-4.
