Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

We have a temperature inversion on Saturday morning, where lower elevations are actually colder than the top of the mountain. While the temperature in town is about -25F, the temperature at the summit is about 10F, so you’ll actually get warmer by getting up on the ski hill. Dress in layers so you can stay warm initially and then shed some clothes as the temperature warms. Under mostly sunny skies, we should see highs reach into  the 20s today and perhaps the 30s on Sunday and Monday.

From Monday night through Wednesday, we could see times of flurries or light snow with low accumulations. Then from Wednesday night through next weekend, we could see somewhat heavier snowfall at times as storms will move toward Steamboat from the northwest, which is a favorable direction as these storms bring a better wind direction and colder air. If you’re looking for a powder day, keep your eye on late next week and next weekend.
