Update

We are waking up to partly cloudy skies on Tuesday morning as the next storm begins to head in our direction. Before the storm arrives, though, Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and mostly dry with a temperature in the mid-to-upper 30s. Then clouds should thicken on Tuesday night with snow showers developing, and these showers should continue through Wednesday with light accumulations.

The storm will arrive on Wednesday night and will bring moderate snowfall through Friday. As temperatures cool and the wind begins to blow from the west, I have higher confidence that Thursday and Friday will turn out to be soft, fun powder days. Cooling temperatures and a wind from the west is what we want to see at Steamboat as this weather pattern often brings the deepest snow totals.

Snow showers could linger on Saturday and Sunday with little accumulation, and then the next significant storm should bring snow between next Monday and Wednesday, February 27 to March 1.
