Update

On Monday morning, clouds are moving over Steamboat as the next storm approaches from the west. We will likely see snow showers on Monday afternoon with light accumulations, then a period of heavy snow should arrive on Monday evening and continue through at least half of the night. Snowfall during this time should be in the 3-6 inch range, though it could be deeper if the cold front stalls near Steamboat and the snow is more intense or falls for a longer period of time.

You should wake up to fresh powder on Tuesday morning, then I think there will be a lull in the snow on Tuesday as the cold front sags to the south of Steamboat. Snow showers should resume on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night as a cold wind blows from the west and northwest (this is a favorable wind direction for Steamboat). Keep your eye on the snow-stake camera to see if Wednesday morning will also offer fresh pow.

Following this storm, we’ll see sunny and dry weather for most of the first 10 days of March, though the storm track will not stray far from northern Colorado, so we might experience a few periods of clouds and snow showers now and again.
