Update

It’s a powder morning now on Tuesday after 7 inches accumulated during a short window between about 8pm and 3am on Monday night. The temperature is appropriately chilly for a powder day (5-10F), so bundle up and enjoy the fresh snow!

Snow showers will likely stick around through the day on Tuesday and Tuesday evening and we should receive a few additional inches, though I do not think we’ll see heavy snow as the main batch of moisture and energy is now to our south and east. The one hope that I do have is the wind direction, which will shift to blow from the west and northwest through the day and night, and this favorable direction can bring additional snow to Steamboat.

Following this storm, expect sunny weather from Wednesday through Saturday, and then a storm will clip northern Colorado on Sunday into Monday and this could result in a period of light snow and a few inches of accumulation (if the storm drops far enough south to even hit Colorado). After that, sunny and spring-skiing weather will resume through at least March 10th with our next chance for snow between about March 10-15.
