Steamboat Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 7 years ago November 26, 2017
Update
Saturday was a sunny and warm day, and Sunday and Monday will be similar to Saturday with dry conditions, sunshine, and morning temperatures that are a bit colder at the base than higher up on the mountain. Unfortunately, nighttime low temperatures are not cooling quite enough for much if any snowmaking, but some colder weather is on the way.
A fast-moving storm will bring light snow on Monday night, with perhaps a coating to 2 inches falling by Tuesday morning. This storm will also bring cooler temperatures, which means that snowmaking might be possible during the day on Tuesday and it'll be very likely on Tuesday night.
Following this system, we'll see a chance for light snow again on Wednesday night, and then a stronger storm could bring cooler temperatures and some snow between about December 3-6, with cooler temperatures possibly hanging around for many days after that storm. It has been a lean early season for snowfall, but it is far too soon to panic. Stay tuned for daily updates!
