Sunshine early in the week; big storm coming Thursday

Update

Skies will clear for some beautiful skiing and riding in the sunshine on Monday and Tuesday in Central Idaho after our slopes got some base-making snow over the weekend. A big storm coming out of the Gulf of Alaska should bring a powder punch to Central Idaho on Wednesday night and Thursday. About 2-4 inches are forecast from that storm at Sun Valley. Could be more.

More snow is expected to fall on Friday and through the weekend.

NOAA forecast maps for the next two weeks are calling for cooler-than-normal temperatures and wetter-than-normal precipitation. Yes!

Announcements

Sun Valley Resort is operating daily on Bald Mountain with top-to-bottom skiing and riding on 10 runs and 5 lifts in operation. Skiing and riding on the Warm Springs side of the mountain opened last weekend. Warm Springs Lodge is open as well. An opening date of Saturday, Dec. 13 is scheduled for Dollar Mountain.

See the Sun Valley events page for information about live music and fun activities going on in the area.
