Dry Through Saturday, Light Snow Possible Sunday & Again for Christmas...

Summary

- Thursday through Saturday we should be dry with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s. Warming into the 40s at lake level Friday into Saturday. South winds increasing on the ridges to 50+ mph for Saturday. - Sunday the next storm pushes in with light-moderate snow. Colder air pushes in as well with snow levels dropping below lake level. Snow showers could linger into Sunday night before tapering off. By Monday morning we could see totals of 1-4 inches at lake level, and 2-7 inches on the mountains. Highs in the 30s at lake level and 20s on the mountains and winds coming down. - Monday-Tuesday we should see a bit of a break between storms, with scattered snow showers possible. The next storm could move in by Christmas Day with light snow. The forecast models disagree on timing and amounts. Then snow showers could linger through the end of the week. - The long-range trend is for high pressure to build off the West Coast week 2. That may bring us a drier period from the 28th into the first week of January. But that doesn't mean completely dry without a weak system or two.
