Windy Weekend with Some Snow Sunday...
Summary
- Friday we have partly cloudy skies with increasing winds. Ridgetop winds gusting to 40+ mph in the morning and increasing to 60+ mph in the afternoon. Saturday we have another dry day with winds continuing to increase to 80+ mph on the mountain tops and to 40+ mph down to lake level. Highs in the 40s at lake level and 30's on the mountains. Winds likely to close some upper mountain lifts. - Sunday the next storm pushes in with light-moderate snow. Colder air pushes in as well with snow levels dropping below lake level. Snow showers could linger into Sunday evening before tapering off. By Monday morning we could see totals of 0-3 inches at lake level, and 1-6 inches on the mountains. Highs in the 30s at lake level and 20s on the mountains. Winds still gusting to 60+ mph Sunday and coming down Sunday night, likely continuing to affect some upper mountain lifts. - Monday through Thursday could be cold and mainly dry as weak splitting systems drop down the coast to our west. A few snow showers are not out of the question but mainly expecting partly cloudy skies. Highs in the 30s at lake level and 20s on the mountains. - The next chance for some light snow may be Thursday night into next Friday, and another weak system or two for the weekend of the 28th. - Going into the end of the month and the first week of January, we may see a coldish and drier pattern with only a chance for very weak systems if any.
