Update 10 PM:

Not many changes this evening.  Some snow showers were falling along the crest this evening.  Some heavier snowfall is pushing towards the crest now.  The heaviest snow still looks to fall Friday morning and again Friday evening.  The GFS on the latest 0z run has the heaviest precip further North, just SW of the lake.  We could see totals up to 15 inches along the crest above 8000 ft. by Saturday morning.

The Sunday system has trended further South on the model runs today.  We could see some more snow on the mountains with light accumulations.

From This Morning:

A quick update on the storm for tomorrow.  Not much change from yesterday.

The snow should begin around midnight and become moderate into Friday morning with the cold front.  Snow showers linger mid-day Friday before the main center of low pressure moves inland with another burst of snow Friday evening.  Snow showers taper off Friday night.

Snowfall totals of a few inches possible at lake level but it will have a hard time accumulating during the day.  On the mountains we could see 6-9 inches on the East side of the lake and 9-12 inches on the West side.  Amounts of a foot or just over a foot possible on the highest peaks along the crest.

So a storm day Friday with gusty winds, and then a blue bird powder day Saturday for closing weekend at Squaw and Kirkwood, and Alpine will be open as well.

Have fun....BA
