Storm ends, sunshine returns, next storm on Friday

Summary

On Sunday, we were on the southern edge of the storm and saw just a little bit of snow. Now on Monday, the storm will be winding down, and we'll wait for the next storm to arrive on Friday.

Update

Reminder: This season is starting with a lower snowpack compared to last season, so there are only a handful of trails open at the moment. The current storm should help mountain crews to open more terrain over the coming days.

Sunday was a stormy day across the northern and central mountains of Colorado, but we were on the southern edge of the storm and saw just another 1 inch (or so) at mid-mountain.

The total snowfall from Thursday through Sunday was 22 inches on the mid-mountain snow stake.

Monday is when the storm will be winding down, though we'll still see more sunshine with temperatures in the 20s.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be dry and mostly sunny with high temperatures in the 30s to low 40s. I am hopeful that there will be more terrain open by the middle of the week.

Friday and Saturday are when we will see the next chance for snow. I'll stick with my early estimate for 4-8 inches of snow during this time, with perhaps softer riding conditions on Friday afternoon and/or Saturday morning. Temperatures on Friday will be in the teens, and temperatures on Saturday will be colder, perhaps in the single digits to low teens.
