Snow showers, and then maybe some powder on Thursday morning

Summary

There will be clouds and maybe a few snow showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the best chance for new/soft/powder snow will be on Thursday.

Update

Monday

Monday was a spectacularly beautiful day with sunny skies, light winds, and a comfortable temperature with a high of around 30°F. The snow was soft and playful, but not too soft (which can happen as the sun angle becomes higher in late February and March).

Tuesday

Late on Monday night, clouds returned, and now on Tuesday morning, there are a couple of snowflakes in the air.

I think most of Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and most of the snow showers will stay well to our north. Winds will be breezy at the summit and the high temperature will be around 30°F.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be another mostly cloudy day with mostly dry weather, and then we have a high chance for steadier snow on Wednesday night. The high temperature on Wednesday will be around 30°F.

Thursday

I still think that Thursday morning will be the best chance for a bit of powder this week with the potential for 1-4 inches of new snow falling on Wednesday night. Clouds and a few snow showers will hang around for much of the day on Thursday, and the high temperature will be cooler, in the low-to-mid 20's.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (February 23-25) will be dry. Friday will be sunnier with a high temperature of around 30°F, and Saturday and Sunday will bring more clouds with a high temperature of around 30°F.

The Next Storm

I am confident that a strong storm will move through Colorado between Monday, February 26, and Wednesday, February 28. The best chance for a powder day will be Tuesday during the day or Wednesday morning, and snowfall will likely be in the double digits. We should be able to figure out more details during the coming days.

My next update will be Wednesday morning.
