Forecast for Thursday to Friday (Feb 14-15)

I feel like I have been writing the same forecast for the past two weeks and always showing maps with the western United States covered in feet of snow. Sometimes the weather pattern stays in place for a few weeks, and this is one of those stormy periods that we’ll remember for years to come.

The forecast for Thursday and Friday shows an additional 1-3 FEET of snow for many western areas, and parts of California could see more than 3 FEET of powder from Thursday through Friday.

Forecast for The Weekend (Feb 16-17)

It’s like the movie Groundhog Day with the same forecast map showing up and again and again and again. The latest models show additional snow for the west this weekend with deep totals on Saturday and another system over the southwest on Sunday into Monday.

The Outlook for February 18-22

Temperatures over the western US and Canada will continue to be colder than average, however, I do not know if this will translate into a lot of snow or rather a few weaker storms. No matter, the weather pattern that we’ve seen during the previous two weeks will continue through the third week of February with the best chances for snow over the west and a mish-mash of rain/snow/mixed precipitation over the east.
