Snow for New England

Summary

A storm is bringing snow to New England on Monday with moderate to heavy totals expected for parts of Northern Vermont. The pattern will shift across the West later this week with a colder storm bringing snow to Western Canada on Wednesday and Thursday, and the Western U.S. from Friday through Sunday with additional storms possible during the week of November 9th.

Short Term Forecast

New England Snow:

The Northeast saw a round of snow last Friday and another storm will bring snow to Northern New England on Monday. As of Monday morning, the storm was just beginning with snow already accumulating at Stowe and other resorts in Northern Vermont.

Forecast for Mon, Nov 2 – Tue, Nov 3

Snow will fall across New England on Monday and into Monday night with the highest totals expected in Northern Vermont. Out west, mountain ranges in Northern British Columbia, Southeast Alaska, and the Yukon will continue to see snow while snow and freezing levels will be very high across Southern BC with rain falling at most ski areas.

Forecast for Wed, Nov 4 – Thu, Nov 5

The next storm will impact British Columbia and Alberta on Wednesday and Thursday with colder air and falling snow levels. The Northern Washington Cascades will pick up some snow during this time as well.

Forecast for Fri, Nov 6 – Sat, Nov 7

The storm track will shift south into the U.S. with snow falling across the Cascades and Sierras on Friday and Saturday, before spreading into the Rockies sometime on Saturday. Timing and snowfall potential for specific areas are still in question, but most mountain ranges in the Western U.S. will see snowflakes fly this weekend.

Extended Forecast

Outlook for Sun, Nov 8 – Thu, Nov 12

Most areas in the Rockies should see their best round of snow from the weekend storm on Sunday. More importantly, the weekend storm will signal a pattern change in which the storm door remains open across the West with more consistent storms along with colder air likely to follow during this period.

Thanks so much for reading and please check back in for my next post on Wednesday, November 4th.
