US and Canada Daily Snow

West gets back into the action this week
Summary
For the first part of this week, the northeast saw snow while the west was mostly dry and sunny. That will change late this week through next week as multiple storms bring powder toward the western US and Canada.
Short Term Forecast
During the end of this week and through the weekend, northern New England will continue to see snow pile up, especially in New Hampshire and Maine. At the same time, storm systems will begin to affect the west coast of the US and Canada with snow in California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. Here is the snowfall map through this weekend.
The only caveat to this forecast is that temperatures will not be very cold, especially out west, so there could be some snow-level issues for the lower mountains (rain at the base) and some of the snow will be of the denser, thicker variety.
Looking ahead to next week, Monday through Friday, cool air and a bit of snow will stick round the northeast, while storms over the west coast push further into the US, bringing snow to Colorado and New Mexico.
Temperatures will begin to cool next week along the west coast and the rockies, so snow levels should come down.
Extended Forecast
As we head into the last few days of February and early March, cool air should begin to flow from Alaska through central Canada, and this will drop temperatures in the Rockies and the midwest.
If we can get enough moisture to hit the Rockies during this time, we could set the stage for lighter, fluffier snow due to the cooler temperatures.
