April Showers

Summary

Spring-like weather this week with relatively warm conditions and occasional chances for showers.

Short Term Forecast

Today would have been the closing day for another handful of Utah resorts. As it is, all resorts have long-since been closed. Snow, of course, has still been falling. A weak disturbance will bring the threat of showers to the region today. Snow levels will be high, around 8000 feet, but a couple inches of snow above that level is not out of the question. We will continue to see the threat of afternoon pop-up showers as we head thru this week. Temps will be mild, with 60s in the valleys and 40s in the mountains.

The next storm system will move in Wednesday night and Thursday. Another round of widespread showers is likely, although significant accumulations are unlikely.

Extended Forecast

Next weekend looks mostly dry at this point. Perhaps additional chances for mountain snow at the end of April, although models diverge quite a bit during this period.
