Midweek Showers

Summary

We continue to be mild and dry to start the upcoming week. Showers will develop for Northern Utah late Tuesday into Wednesday. Modest mountain snowfall accumulations are possible.

Short Term Forecast

We continue to be mild and dry to close this weekend into the start of the upcoming week. However, we have showers returning to far northern Utah as we get clipped by a slow-moving trough. Expect showers for the northern half of the state beginning late Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday, perhaps into Tuesday. The GFS shows the following output for this period:

Perhaps some areas with decent precip amounts. The Euro is much drier than the GFS and shows more meager amounts. Tempering expectations, but we could be looking at a decent ski day with fresh snow on Wednesday, perhaps into Thursday. Something to keep an eye on at the very least.

Extended Forecast

Not much agreement after midweek. We could see a secondary wave on Friday into Saturday, but that's far from certain. In general, we should dry out again heading into the following week (April 19-25).
