Update

Wednesday Recap

We started Wednesday with a coating of new snow and then saw 2 inches accumulate during the day. Once the sun set on Wednesday evening, another 2 inches of snow slowly accumulated until Thursday morning. This means that the storm total was about 4 inches and you should find enough snow to enjoy soft turns on Thursday morning. Also, the wind was very strong during the day on Wednesday, so expect to find wind-affected snow in exposed areas.

Dry Thursday and Friday

Thursday will be dry and sunny then expect more clouds on Friday as the next storm moves toward Colorado.

Storm Saturday

Snow should begin on late Friday evening and continue through Saturday evening. Total snowfall should be 2-4 inches with some powder on Saturday morning and more accumulating through the day. Thankfully, the wind will NOT be as strong with this storm compared to the Wednesday system.

Uncertain Sunday and Monday

We could see light snow during some hours on Sunday and Monday, though I lack confidence in exactly how much snow and when we could see the flakes. Stay tuned.

Storm Wednesday and Thursday

A strong system should track across southern Colorado just after Christmas. If most of the energy remains to our south and the wind direction blows from the southwest, we will see less snow. If the storm tracks in a way to give us a wind from the east or the northwest, we’ll see more snow. The models are split on this, so we’ll need to wait a few more days to know how it’ll play out.
