Update

Big Storm Next Week

In my final post on Monday, April 22, I provided a season overview with a snowpack graphic. Click here to see that discussion: https://opensnow.com/dailysnow/winterpark/post/15290

In that write-up, I mentioned that I would post again if a significant storm is possible.

Well, it looks like a significant storm is possible, hence this late-season post!

Look for a few inches of snow on Friday night (April 26), a mostly dry day on Saturday, and some showers on Saturday night and Sunday.

Then from Monday, April 29 to Wednesday, May 1, a strong storm should deliver 10-20+ inches of snow. The best days to ride powder should be Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will be warm, so the snow quality will be thick and surfy (not cold and blower), but deep snow is enjoyable to ride no matter the quality, so we should have fun times if this storm comes to fruition.

Reminder: Winter Park is closed, and Mary Jane will be open through May 12th.

Thanks for reading and check back on Sunday (April 28) and then each morning through the storm for daily updates!
