The sun returns to Winter Park, more storms coming

Summary

Tuesday was a fun day with soft snow in the morning and additional snow during the day. We now look ahead of mostly dry weather into early 2021 with storms returning next week.

Short Term Forecast

We were looking forward to freshies on Tuesday and the storm delivered on the low end with about 4 inches by Tuesday's first chair and an additional 2 inches accumulated during the day. I hope that you enjoyed the new snow!

Wednesday will be a sunny day with a cold start in the single digits and then temperatures will warm into the teens.

Thursday will bring more clouds as a weak storm moves into Colorado. We could see very light snow showers during the day and through the evening with accumulations ranging between nothing and maybe an inch or two.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will offer a dry start to the new year with temperatures rising into the 20s each day.

Extended Forecast

The weather pattern next week will become more active but I am not yet sure if this will translate into big snowfall.

On Monday, January 4, a weak storm will pass to the north and we could see a few showers.

On Tuesday, January 5, a moderately-strong storm should bring at least a few inches of snow.

On Friday, January 8, a stronger storm could bring a lot of snow to Colorado but it may track too far to the south to bring us the deepest totals.

Then from Saturday, January 9 through Wednesday, January 13, additional storms should move close to or over Colorado.

I am happy that we will have chances for storms every few days, but again, it’s just too early to know if these storms will bring us a lot of snow or if they will track farther to the north or south and drop just lighter totals.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
