Monday morning powder at Winter Park

Summary

On Sunday night, the atmosphere dropped 7 inches of snow, so expect fun conditions on Monday morning. Snow showers and light accumulations will continue for the rest of the week.

Short Term Forecast

On Sunday, we enjoyed the 6 inches of snow that accumulated on Saturday night, and then during the day, we saw a mix of breaks of sunshine and additional snow showers with light accumulations.

On Sunday night, the next part of the storm arrived and delivered more snow than I expected with 7 inches on the mid-mountain snow stake cam.

On Monday, enjoy the new snow from Sunday night, and expect additional snow showers especially during the afternoon.

On Tuesday, we should see dry weather in the morning with snow showers during the afternoon and potentially a few more inches of accumulation on Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday night, and through Wednesday morning. If this snowfall materializes, the best chance to enjoy more powder should be on Wednesday morning.

For Thursday and Friday, the final storm of the week will bring more snow. At this point, I expect just lighter accumulations with the best chance for potential powder on Friday.

Extended Forecast

From Saturday midday through Monday, March 29, expect dry, sunny, and warm weather with typical springtime conditions of firm and crunchy snow in the morning and then softer and even slushy snow during the afternoon.

From Tuesday, March 30 through Wednesday, March 31, a storm will track to our north. This storm could keep all of its snow and cold air to our north, or some of the snow and cold air could drop south into Colorado. It is too soon to know what will happen, and I will keep you updated.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
