Snowy Saturday

Summary

We'll enjoy some late-season freshies on Saturday.

Update

On Friday night, the storm came through just above the range that we expected with 5 inches of snow falling at mid-mountain.

Then a quick 3 inches accumulated on Saturday between 500am-900am, and this made for soft and fun turns on the groomers on Saturday morning, though the crust is still there on non-groomed slopes.

During the day on Saturday, we'll likely see another few inches of snow thanks to on-then-off snow showers during the day. My guess is that accumulations will be an additional 1-3 inches, though if we get lucky with a stronger shower hitting the mountain, we could see 4-5 inches.

On Saturday night and Sunday, snow showers will wane and additional snow accumulations should be light.

On Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, there is a chance that intense snow showers pop up for a few hours and deliver 2-5+ inches of snow, but the most likely scenario is that most of these showers will stay just south and east of the mountain. I'd keep your eye on the snow stake cam just to see if we get lucky and could see soft turns on Monday morning.

Looking ahead to the week of Monday, April 25 to Friday, April 29, it'll be dry and very warm with high temperatures in the 40s and 50s, then we might see a little snow around April 29-30. With spring coming in full force, I will wind down my daily writing after this storm and will publish my final post of the season next week.
