A soft weekend

Summary

Steady snow on Saturday evening means a soft day on Sunday.

Update

Saturday morning was soft thanks to 5 inches of snow that fell on Friday night and the additional 5 inches that fell during the morning.

On Saturday night, we got a gift with another 3 inches of snow thanks to a few intense snow squalls that moved over the mountain.

This snow from Saturday night means that Sunday morning will be soft as well and it will be a pretty nice day of riding for late April. Sunday's weather should be a mix of some sun, some clouds, and some snow showers with little accumulation.

On Sunday late afternoon and Sunday night, there will be intense snow showers that form close by, but I don't know if they'll hit the mountain or not. If the showers hit, we could see some accumulation and more soft turns on Monday morning. If the showers stay just to the south and east of the mountain (the more likely scenario), we might wind up with no new snow. It'll be worth watching the snow stake cam on Sunday night to see what happens.

After this weekend storm, we'll see dry and warmer weather from Monday midday through Thursday, then just a low chance of a little bit of snow from Friday into Saturday (April 29-30).

With spring coming in full force, I will wind down my daily writing after this storm and will publish my final post of the season on Tuesday morning.
