Winter Park Daily Snow

Storm departs, dry weather through Saturday, then more snow

Summary

Tuesday was chilly with a few snow showers and no additional accumulation, and now the next four days will be dry and warmer.

Update

Tuesday was a winter-like day with 2 inches of snow for first chair, light snow showers during the day (which amounted to no real additional accumulation), and the temperature was cold, staying in the single digits.

The mid-mountain snow stake cam shows that no snow accumulated after Tuesday at 4 pm as the storm moved away from Colorado around sunset.

Wednesday will start cold with a temperature near 0°F, and then the air will warm into the 20s during the day with sunny skies.

Thursday will also be sunny and the temperature will be warmer with a high in the 30s.

For Friday and Saturday, I expect more clouds and high temperatures in the 30s.

Then we will see a period of active/stormy weather starting around Sunday evening and continuing through at least the first half of Thanksgiving week. This storm cycle will bring a lot of moisture to Colorado, which may translate into a lot of snow, though another aspect to keep in mind is that warmer temperatures will accompany this moisture, so the snow quality could be thick/dense. That's okay, though, as a deep, dense storm would be a big help to improve/deepen our base.

While most forecast models agree about the potential for a lot of snow next week, there is no agreement about the forecast details, like when we could see the most snow and the snow totals, so we'll be patient for now, and I think we'll be able to better dial in next week's weather by the end this week.

My next update will be on Thursday morning.
