Active Fires Map

Track active fires and satellite-detected hotspots with the free "Active Fires" map in OpenSnow.

Getting Started

  1. Tap the "Maps" tab.
  2. Tap the overlay button.
  3. Tap the "Active Fires" overlay.
  4. Scrub the bottom slider.
  5. Tap to view details.

how to use active fires map

Fire Map Details

Hover (desktop) or tap (mobile) on the map to view specific wildfire details:

  • Location
  • Acreage Burned
  • % Contained
  • Discovered Date
  • Fire Cause
  • Fire Behavior
  • Fuel Sources

Here's an example of the Active Fires map from the "Falls Fire" in eastern Oregon on Monday, June 22. Tap (mobile) or hover (desktop) over the map to view the details:
