April 2025 Snowpack Update
Our snowpack across the Western US likely peaked in early April and is now beginning its spring decline.
The map below shows the percentage of snowpack compared to the 1991-2020 median snowpack for April 14, 2025.
Blue is well above normal, green and yellow are near to below normal, and red is well below normal. This map is based on the weight of the snow on the ground, measured by automated backcountry weather stations called SNOTEL.
