March 2018 Snowpack Update

The headlines for March have been focused on the parade of storms for California, with totals of 12-19 feet on the mountains surrounding the Tahoe region. Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado have also benefited but Tahoe will always remember 2017-2018 as the season of "Miracle March".

The map below shows the current snowpack compared to average for the Western US, with data from the backcountry weather station network known as SNOTEL.

The following Base Depth vs. Average graphs (compared to the 30-year average) are available to OpenSnow All-Access users for nearly every mountain location in the western US and Canada.
