Update

Looking back, light snow began to fall early Thursday morning and we saw 1-2 inches accumulate by mid-morning on the mid-mountain snow stake camera.

Coming up, moisture will stream over northern Colorado for the next 5-6 days, so expect more clouds than sunshine during this time. When a wave of energy and colder air moves through this flow over northern Colorado, this will help the atmosphere to convert some of the moisture to snow.

The next wave should bring light snow on Saturday morning, and perhaps again on Saturday afternoon. Following Saturday’s snow, we might see lighter or no snow from Saturday night through Monday, and then the strongest wave of energy should move through on Monday night and Tuesday. I have reasonable confidence that Tuesday will be a powder day, so keep that on your radar.

This storm cycle will be rather warm (highs in the 20s) and will also bring windy conditions. Both of these factors should make the powder a little thicker and “surfy” until we see colder air and potentially fluffier snow on Tuesday.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
