Update

Looking back, we saw 1-2 inches on the mid-mountain snow stake on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and an additional 1-2 inches accumulated on Friday night into Saturday morning. This type of light but consistent snow is what we were expecting during this storm cycle. Yes, these are not big totals, but it helps to keep the surface a bit softer and fresher.

From Saturday through Tuesday, moisture will stream over northern Colorado, so expect more clouds than sunshine during this time. When a wave of energy and colder air moves through this flow over northern Colorado, this will help the atmosphere to convert some of the moisture to snow.

Following the snow on Saturday morning, we might see the next wave bring light snow on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. Following Saturday’s snow, we should see lighter or no snow from Saturday night through Monday, and then the strongest wave of energy should move through on Monday night and Tuesday. I have reasonable confidence that Tuesday will be a powder day with 6+ inches of snow available in the morning, so if you’re looking for powder, consider skiing on Tuesday.

Following the more intense snow on Monday night and Tuesday morning, we should see snow showers on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, then Wednesday and Thursday should be dry. Our next chance for snow will then arrive next Friday or Saturday.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
