Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Based on my unofficial calculations, snowfall this season is about 20-30% above average at Copper as of November 24th. This is great news, but of course the question from all of us snow-hungry skiers is ‘will the above-average snowfall continue?’

The short answer is that we will see snow during the next week, but right now I am tempering my expectations as I only put an inch or two in the forecast each day starting on Wednesday night and continuing through next Monday. The storm responsible for this snow will stall over the western US for five days, and this type of slow-moving storm is incredibly difficult to forecast. If you’re looking for fun skiing with perhaps a bit of snow each day, the holiday weekend will be right up your alley. If you’re looking for a powder day, I would say to keep your eye on this upcoming Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday as these days have potential, but I’m still a ways away from being able to forecast deeper snow and a true powder day. Stay tuned as I’ll provide another update on Wednesday morning.
