Open Snow Inside Story

Snow is falling today but tapering off, then increasing again. There was 3-5” of new, this morning. Expect another 4-12" today and tonight with the snow level near 3500ft – but rising. Several ski areas might be at least partially open for Saturday morning – call ahead. Saturday and Sunday things get a bit ugly. A moist and mild pattern will push the snow level to 6500ft . As a result we’ll see several inches of rain on the lower slopes. There will be snow on the upper slopes, especially at Bachelor/Crystal/Baker and Whistler. Could be more than a foot of  new above 6,000ft. SL lowers on Sunday to 4500,

Open Snow Look Ahead

Expect improvement later Sunday into Monday, and then a weak system moves through on Tuesday with a little new snow, but modest snow level – 4000ft. After that we go dry. It looks likes El Nino is putting the squeeze on us, nudging the storms away from us and beginning to disfavor snow Cascade accumulation.
