Not pretty today - Improvement ahead
Summary
The wintery mess continued overnight with rain, snow and the dreaded freezing rain (when rain falls and immediately freezes). The unsettled, nasty weather will continue through part of today. This atmospheric river is warm and moist, but running into and doing battle very cold air from eastern Washington. That is causing the big mess in the Cascades. Some slopes and many roads are seeing rain on snow or freezing rain. Don’t worry the snowpack isn’t melting.
