Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 8 years ago November 24, 2015

Our next chance of snow in Steamboat will coincide with opening day on Thursday, which is pretty good timing, eh? That said, I am keeping the snow forecast for Wednesday night and Thursday on the lower side, with perhaps 2-4 inches of accumulation. The storm responsible for this snow is going to stall over the western US for about five days, and these slow-moving storms lead to difficult and often inaccurate forecasts. This is the reason why I am going low on snow amounts as I would rather be surprised with more snow than forecast instead of being disappointed by lower snow amounts compared to what I predict.

As this storm hangs to our west, I think we’ll be dry on Friday, with light snow showers on Saturday, followed by a better chance of snow on Sunday and Monday. I will update this forecast on Wednesday morning and hope to offer more clarity and confidence at that time. Thanks for reading!
