Storm Day...

Summary

- A strong storm moves in Thursday during the morning with heavy snow through the afternoon. Snow showers lingering Thursday night into early Friday morning before clearing. We could see 10-20+ inches of powdery snow on the mountains, and 5-15 inches at lake level by Friday morning. Winds gusting to 80+ mph Thursday morning and dropping to 60+ mph in the afternoon, possibly affecting some upper mountain lift operations. Highs in the 20s on the upper mountains and 30s at lake level. - A drier pattern begins to build in Friday through MLK weekend. We should see mostly sunny skies with lighter winds through the weekend. Still cold Friday in the 30s but then warming into the 40s in the lower elevations Saturday through Monday. - High pressure shifts east next week allowing more storms to push into CA. We could see rain/snow as early as Monday afternoon. A storm looks more likely for Tuesday. The models disagree on whether storms continue through the end of the week or we see another break. - We may see more unsettled weather for the week of the 27th.
