Some Fall Weather This Week...

The forecast has changed a little over the last few days.  The trough moving into the Pacific NW for the beginning of the week now looks like it will dig back into Nevada and back close enough to Tahoe to bring colder air and the chance for some showers.

The most noticeable change will be the drop in temperatures with highs only in the 60's by Tuesday and lows in the 30's.  If you are hiking the temperatures above 8000 feet will be around 50 degrees for highs.  By Thursday and into next weekend the weather will be nice with highs warming into the 70's.

As for precip we aren't expecting much.  We could see some showers pop up Monday night into Tuesday but they will be light and scattered.  We will have to watch as a heavier burst could bring some light snow to the highest peaks.  Snow levels most likely staying above 9000 feet.

Here is the GFS total precip forecast.

As you can see the cooler temps are most likely the story.

We will keep watching for a more significant system in the long-range but nothing showing up yet.

Stay tuned...BA
