Upper Midwest Daily Snow

Another Week of Cold
While the sun will be out across much of the region, a stiff northwest wind will keep us very cold through the remainder of the week with arctic high pressure dominating our weather.
With the exception of a few lingering snow showers over Wisconsin and near Lake Superior this morning, things will clear out for a very cold and dry week. Temperatures will struggle to get into the teens in most areas with wind chills below zero dominating our weather until Sunday night. Most places could see wind chills bottoming out near -20 to -30 below on Tuesday through Saturday mornings, with it only feeling colder as the week goes along. On the bright side, it should stay sunny for most of the week!
As for our next good chance of snow, it looks like a clipper low is taking aim for the Upper Midwest on Sunday night into Monday. Right now the forecasts are all over the place when it comes to exact timing and strength, but both the GFS and Euro show the low being pulled apart into the flow as it hits the International Border and the strong arctic high over the Midwest. While this pretty much ruins our chances for another foot storm over the holiday weekend, it should give most areas across Wisconsin and Minnesota a couple of inches to play in on Monday mid-day. Not to mention, it brings a slight warm up. This low isn’t getting me too excited, but it’s the only storm that all the models agree will bring us some snow over the next 7 days.
Looking way into next week, the models completely vary if we are going to settle into the trend of last year, with clippers all missing us to the north, or if the strong high pressure over the western US shifts drives the flow slightly further south. Going to keep my eyes peeled on the models all week to see if they start agreeing on something!
Stay warm!
