Saturday Pow Alert

Update

As of 7am Saturday morning 6” have fallen overnight at the Challenger snow stake with cloudy skies and a temperature of 8 degrees in the village. Saturday will be a mostly cloudy day with a few flurries this morning with highs around 18 at 8000’. West/Southwest winds will be modest at 15mph with gusts up to 25mph (8000’) bringing the chill factor in the alpine to about -3. The rest of the weekend looks to bring light snow Saturday night with 1-2” and another 1-2” during the day on Sunday with highs staying in the mid-teens at 8000’.  Moderate SW winds will also be felt across the ridge tops on Sunday.  Another small disturbance moves in Sunday night into Monday with another inch or two possible. Frigid arctic air looks to hold off its invasion until at least Wednesday.
